Terms of Service
These terms govern the use of the EPREL Auto Energy Labels app for Shopify (the "Service"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you accept on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
The Service
The app matches the products in your Shopify store against EPREL, the European Commission's public product registry, and displays the official energy label material on your storefront: the class arrow, the full label image and the Product information sheet. Matched data is written to your store as metafields and files, as described in the documentation.
Your responsibilities
- You remain responsible for the legal compliance of your listings. The app automates finding and displaying labels, but the seller's obligations under the EU energy labelling regulations stay with you. Review matches — especially those the app asks you to review — before relying on them.
- Provide accurate product data (model identifiers, EPREL numbers) and keep your field mapping correct.
- Use the Service only for stores you operate, and not in a way that disrupts it (e.g. attempting to overload, reverse engineer or resell it).
EPREL data
Label data originates from the EPREL registry and is entered there by product suppliers, not by us. We pass it through faithfully but cannot guarantee that the registry itself is accurate, complete or current. Where the app is unsure, it asks you instead of guessing.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" and we do not promise uninterrupted operation. We may improve or change features over time; changes that remove significant functionality will be announced in the app.
Fees
The Service is currently free. If paid plans are introduced, they will be offered through Shopify's billing system and nothing will be charged without your explicit confirmation.
Data and privacy
What we process and why is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: your shop's product catalog, never your customers' personal data; everything we write to your store stays yours; uninstalling deletes your shop's data within 30 days.
Intellectual property
The app, its code and its design remain ours. Everything the app writes into your store (labels, sheets, metafield values) is yours to keep and use. Official label material remains subject to the EU's own rules on its use.
Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access for abuse of these terms or where required to protect the Service or other users; if we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice. Data deletion after uninstall follows the Privacy Policy.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (including lost profits or regulatory fines resulting from your listings), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — or €100 if you paid none. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the effective date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in the app, and continued use after they take effect means acceptance.
Our demo store
Our demonstration storefront does not sell or ship products; any orders, accounts or carts created there are test data and may be removed at any time.
